INSTRUCTIONS FOR A CINEMATOGRAPHER.

"IFAC" is an open-ended experiment in filmmaking, reimagining the traditional shot list as a set of poetic instructions. Rather than conventional directives, "Wide Shot, EXTERIOR, Artist's Home", each prompt invites interpretation and collaboration: "Film something that's been marked by time."

The goal is to shift authorship, allowing the person behind the camera to respond instinctively to their surroundings rather than following a predetermined vision. The footage becomes both a document and a response—between the writer of the instructions and the one who interprets them.

Inspired by Oblique Strategies and the idea of filmmaking as an open score, this approach explores what happens when control is relinquished. The collected footage will come together as a collaborative film or exhibition, shaped by the many hands contributing to it. A full list of credits will accompany the final work, acknowledging everyone involved in its creation. Please ensure your name is attached.
